Rainen Companies, LLC, announces plans for a $31 million apartment community designed for empty-nesters looking to free themselves from the burdens of home ownership. Liberty at Shoal Creek - located at 8800 NE 82nd Street in Kansas City, Mo. - will offer 185 one and two-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 754 to 1,354 square feet. In 2001 Rainen Companies, LLC was selected as Co-Developer along with Hunt Midwest to develop Northgate Village, a 62 acre in-fill redevelopment in North Kansas City, Missouri. Rainen and Hunt divided the ground equally, and each independently developed their own areas. Rainen focused primarily on the rental housing components including the Gardens at Northgate Village, a seniors independent living community and CityView Urban Flats, Lofts, and City Suites, a Class A multifamily community.
In 2008 Northgate Village received a prestigious ULI Development of Distinction Award while CityView received a Capstone Award from the Kansas City Business Journal. The development has been praised and studied as a great example of infill redevelopment that incorporates the principles of New Urbanism.
The Gardens at Northgate Village has been an extremely succesful project for Rainen Companies. In October of 2013, Rainen completed construction on the 78 unit Phase 3 of the Gardens, bringing the combined total of the three phases to 258 units of high quality mixed income seniors apartments.

In December of 2014, Rainen Companies, LLC secured a tax credit award from the Missiouri Housing Development Commission to finance The Gardens at Northgate Village Phase 4 in North Kansas City, Missouri.
The $11 million, 60 unit project represents the latest and final phase of Rainen's highly successful Gardens of Northgate Village project. In the total the development will include 318 units of high quality, mixed income seniors apartments.

Whispering Hills is a 376 unit multifamily property conveniently located in the heart of Overland Park, Kansas. The property features one and two bedroom apartments, a recently remodeled clubhouse, fitness center and indoor/outdoor pool. The property also features tennis courts and a dog park.
Falcon Point is a 192 unit multifamily property located in the Northland region of Kansas City, Missouri. The property features one and two bedroom apartments as well as a recently remodeled clubhouse, fitness center and pool. The property also features a tennis court and walking trail.
In February 2001, Rainen and partners purchased The Sulgrave and Regency House Apartments on the Kansas City Country Club Plaza from Highwoods. Mr. Rainen served as a managing partner for Sulgrave Development, LLC. Ultimately Sulgrave Development converted all 281 apartment units into condominiums.
The Sulgrave, a 25-story tower, was opened for sale in late November 2001 and sold out quickly. The Regency, a 20-story tower, sold out soon after the Sulgrave sell out was complete. The project is generally considered one of the most successful condo conversions in the Kansas City area.
